The Books On My Side Of The Bed

Well, here's an odd podcast for you. A careful accounting of the books on my side of the bed. Just sit back, relax, and listen to the titles... the authors... the various bookstores... ah, yes, it's all coming back to me...

Just click on the headline above to download the audio file. Or head over to iTunes or PodcastAlley.com.

ALSO: In an effort to promote ChristianHalloweenFan.com, I have set up a service called Horror On TV which provides a weekly listing of upcoming horror movies for those of us who burn the midnight hours on the DVR. I gather the info for myself anyhow and figured other horror geeks might enjoy a look. While visiting, they may even decide to purchase a copy of my book The Magic Eightball Test.

I hope you will find this episode amusing. It's not the usual thing and is rather goofy. But I am worn to a frazzle and have to take a break from the usual Sturm und Drang.

The Magic Eightball Test: A Christian Defense of Halloween and All Things Spooky

Just a reminder that my Halloween book is still out there -- an easy target for any leftover Christmas money burning a hole in your pocket. The topic: "What happens when a pumpkin carving, trick or treating, late night monster movie watching monster fan becomes a Christian? Is Halloween now off-limits? Is the whole thing pagan, occult, satanic? Is a love for spooky things and Gothic detail just plain sick?" Head over to http://www.lulu.com/content/313854 and load up.

Horror on TV: Listings for 1-14 thru 1-19

Hooked on DVR and horror films? Well, you've come to the right place. Almost. You still have to go to this here link to find Horror on TV listings (plus Mystery and Suspense in which horror films will sometimes crop up) which I have pieced together for 1-14 to 1-19.

Of course, tonight (1-14) is the big Val Lewton festival on Turner Classic Movies starting at 8pm, I believe. Followed by practically every Val Lewton shocker except The Ghost Ship.

Tivo links are provided this time. This is a weekly thing I'm doing at the blog page for ChristianHalloweenFan.com. Take a look.

TCM Highlights

Here are some January highlights on Turner Classic Movies. Blue = noteworthy director (including three William Castle films I was not familiar with and a slew of Val Lewton films along with a new documentary), Red = I like it a lot; Green = a rarity (at least rare for TV). Also, if you are a Cagney fan, there's LOTS of Cagney in January.
